Tech Note: Expired certificate

Q: I get a warning that my SSL certificate has expired. What does this mean?

A: InterMapper uses a SSL certificate to encrypt the traffic between it and the InterMapper GUI client. All SSL certificates have expiration dates in them, typically one year.

You can get a new certificate by upgrading InterMapper server to the latest version, or by creating and installing your own self-signed certificate, or you may purchase a certificate from a Certificate Authority such as http://instantssl.com, http://verisign.com, or http://thawte.com
